Time to head home!

We're almost done here. Just a little cleaning, packing up and lunch and we'll be on our way. God has done some amazing things thru this camp and He's spoken to each of our students individually. When your child arrives, ask them how camp was, but don't forget to ask them what God told them and what they intend to do about it. We just talked about that as a church and it is very fresh in their mind.  Our kids are ready to be an uprising! Follow up and try to do whatever you can to help them. Alright, that is it. Camp 2011 is in the books. We should be on the road by 1pm and home around 4ish (depending on traffic). We'll call when we get close. Thank you all for your support and for helping us all get here. God is awesome and is worthy of all of our lives lived for Him!

We're nearing the end!

Today is our last full day of camp. Rec, seminars, and cabin discussions all went well today. It is now free time and some of our girls are on the canopy tour and the boys are going to be doing the human pinata today. Keep praying that we can finish strong and not fall asleep in chapel...it's tough because we're all tired. But we know we'll be home tomorrow and we'll be able to rest and enjoy our own beds and see our families again. There will be one more post tomorrow before we head out. Thanks for keeping up with us. We'll see you all tomorrow!

We've gotten over the hump!

Well, we've made it past the middle of the week. Things are continuing to go well however, we're all getting tired (probably more the leaders than anything else). Please be in prayer for us that we can continue going strong and that God will continue to speak to all of us as we continue to listen to His word thru Scott, Worship our hearts out and engage in our cabin discussions. Scott is going to be talking about how Christians go thru hard times tonight so be in prayer about that also as this subject could bring up some interesting discussions. Until next time...

Another great night!

So tonight, Scott gave the gospel and many students responded. All of our students have already made that first time commitment but some of students did decide that they wanted to have the audacious faith that Scott was talking about, so we're helping them to unpack that the rest of this week. We also had a ton of fun being amazed at Danny Ray's many tricks tonight during his full length show. Everything is going well. Please pray for strength to continue to finish out the week strong (some of us are getting tired!). It's time to get some sleep and be ready for another full day tomorrow...goodnight!

Dye Wars time!!

As I write this, I'm still soaked in dyed water, but it was a lot of fun. Our rec time consisted of dye wars as well as some other fun water type games. Last night Scott brought it again talking about the fact that revolution only happens thru risks. He challenged us to figure out what risk God would want us to take in our lives. It's generating some great discussions for our students. We're still all doing great so for any of you parents that worry, try not to...God is doing great things and everyone is having lots of fun. Ok, time to get all cleaned up and ready for a great evening of chapel, rec and free time! Until next time...

Good First Day of Camp

So far so good as far as our first full day of camp. Everyone's getting along and having a great time! We've had great meals, a great seminar (I'm a little biased as our kids came to mine ;)), fun rec games with pool noodles and cones, and free time activities of archery and swimming. It's just about time for dinner and another session with worship, our illusionist (Danny Ray), and another message from Scott. I'm excited for the next message in our Uprising theme for the week. Stay tuned, and if there's a message that you need to give one of your students, please don't hesitate to reply to this blog or email me at the information down below. And to you Father's, Happy Father's Day. Until next time...

All I Can Say Is WOW!!

So we all made it to camp (drive was fine), got settled in, had dinner, a great rec time with some super fun games. But oh man, tonight's first session was amazing. We had a great time jumping up and down and singing our lungs out with Run Kid Run, but when Scott Bloyer our speaker started speaking God's truth to us, oh man, he brought it!! He called each one of us out and said that an uprising starts with God's movements in our lives  thru the moments in our lives. God is desiring us to step up and start those movement moments this week. It is now free time and then it's off to bed for our first night's sleep. The movement has begun...

It's about that time...

We're about 2 hours away from heading out to Middle School Extreme Camp! Our High Schoolers arrived last night and had nothing but positive things to say about their camp experience. I expect the same for our camp. Please be in prayer for a safe trip, lots of fun together, as well as each one of us to be touched and spoken to by God in a special and unique way. Stay tuned for daily updates here, but for now, here's who's going as well as some important contact information...here we go!!

Gun Fun

As time goes on this week we notice that we're going to sleep a little earlier and sleeping in a little longer but still keeping it extreme. Today we played a game in Rec called The Gauntlet, it's an obstacle course that's run with about 60 students at a time going from bunker to bunker as they are getting shot at by 11 shooters with paintball guns! Needless to say this is one of the best games we play here at camp. Even though students get hit left and right with painful welt causing paintballs they love the thrill of it all. even Andrew Gates and Nick Williams who were hit enough to make them look like Swiss cheese. (Don't worry there ok)
The other highlight of the day was a visit from Bri, Isaac, and Pastor Frank, who joined us for some free time hang out, dinner, and a great chapel!
As camp goes on the messages get deeper, students open up more, and relationships are strengthened. So i hope you will continue to pray for a positive change in all students lives!

A Typical Camp Day

Today was a great day! We are into our normal schedule for the week. In the morning we wake up, have breakfast, and head to chapel. There we watch funny videos, get our announcements for the day, worship with Run Kid Run, then listen to our speaker who has been great at telling biblical stories in a new and interesting way. After chapel we have our cabin discussions where we unpack the message we just heard and talk about how it relates to our lives. After that we head to our Rec Time where we play crazy games with all 400 students that are here, then once were all tired and ready to drop we head back down our 1/2 mile hike hill and go get some grub. The students have 5-6 hours of free time, depending on how fast the eat, and then we do chapel and Rec time all over again! Today like i said was a typical camp day and these days are defiantly extreme, so keep on praying that God speaks to the students at chapel, keeps them safe during Rec, and entertained with all their free time!

Late Nights and Long Hikes

After getting to camp having dinner and enjoying an evening of dodge ball, basketball, and a crazy game of tug-o-war with a twist we headed to chapel. There we got to enjoy some great illusions preformed by Danny Ray, worship with the band Run Kid Run, and listen to our speaker Jarrett Stevens speak about how were going to be looking at who the real Jesus is this week. And luckily we survived the night, well those who actually slept that is...but those who stayed up the whole night I'm sure will be out like a light tonight.
This morning we woke up (those who slept) and many of us went to the optional Early Morning Worship at 7am and had a great time waking up with worship. Then we had breakfast, headed to morning chapel then up a 1/2 mile hike up through the redwoods to play our Rec game, came back down for lunch and are now in our free time where we'll all be doing different activities including entering in a few different tournaments! Wish our students luck!
So far this week is off to a great start from chapel to rec games and free time hangouts to one on ones and cabin discussions. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to have fun and grow closer to God!

Quiet before the storm...

It's the night before camp and High School students scattered around the Antelope area are packing their belongings and getting ready for a life changing week. Their getting ready to put their cell phones, video games, and Facebook updates away and trade them in for redwoods, rustic cabins, and a week away from their parents.
Tomorrow at 1pm we will be loading up a bus and heading to Alliance Redwoods Camp Grounds to meet up with other churches for Xtreme Camp 2011!
For those reading this i hope you will pray that we have a safe trip, and a God filled week!
